Homemade foot soak can be easily be crafted to fit your needs as desired. With little imagination, playfulness and hard-work you can make a fantastic foot soak in less than an hour. There are many salts, clays, botanicals that can be a good choice to include in your foot soak.

Selecting Ingredients

  • Dead sea salt: It is derived from the Dead sea and is far different from the other salt harvested in seas. Dead sea salt can be easily be absorbed by the skin and help to balance electrolytes in the skin. It has many numerous benefits that can help to relieve feet pain and soreness especially after wearing shoes for a long period of time. Its abrasive nature can also sloughs off dead skin cells in cracked heels.

  • Epsom salts: Just like Dead sea salt, Epsom salt can alleviate pain in feet and soothe them. It can also help your feet decompress after experiencing pressure walking for a long time. Epsom salt is a really good salt at reducing feet swelling and inflammation. Including it in your foot soak blend will be fantastic!

  • Coconut oil: It can help to soothe tired feet and help to reduce feet swelling when massaged on swollen feet plus coconut as a nice aroma that can make your feet smell nice especially if you struggle with bad feet odors.

  • Eucalyptus essential oil: This essential oil is not the one to joke with. It is very strong and can be overpowering for some. The good thing is that it works! It can ease joint pain in ankles, alleviate anxiety and bad mood after long working hours and including them in your foot soak can leave you feeling blissful and your feet happy!

  • Peppermint essential oil: Its another essential oil that works well with eucalyptus essential oil. Peppermint can reduce sweat and bad odors in feet making them smell fresh. Their tingling sensation can make your feet nerves calm and soothed.

Ingredients

  • ½ cup of Dead sea salt

  • ½ cup of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate)

  • 1 teaspoon of coconut oil

  • 15 drops of eucalyptus essential oil

  • 20 drops of peppermint essential oil

Just right before you make your foot soak or the foot soak blend, gather all materials that will be needed in the process.. Collect tools like small cotton muslin bags, small bowl, basin and spatula.

Instructions

  1. Measure out your dry ingredients and put them in a glass bowl. Add Epsom salt, followed by Dead sea salt.

  2. Next add one teaspoon of coconut oil. Using unrefined coconut oil for more moisturizing benefits for your feet and the beautiful aroma. Then add your eucalyptus essential oil and peppermint essential oil drop by drop to your dry ingredients and then mix with a spatula. You can also use a food processor or blender to mix well.

  3. Scoop your blend and put it small cotton muslin bags and place in your basin that have enough room to accommodate your feet.

  4. Pour lukewarm water that is comfortable for you in a basin.

  5. Put your feet inside the basin with warm water and let them soak for 15 to 20 minutes.

  6. Remove your feet from the basin and towel dry them.

Caution: If you have medical conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases or any other chronic disorders this foot soak recipe may not be right for you. Please consult your healthcare professionals or physician before engaging in these recipe.

Tips And Tricks for Weekly Pedicures

Apart from having soothing foot soak from now and then try indulging in a nice pedicure weekly can make your feet look nice. The following are simple steps to perform a pedicure

  • Start by removing any nail polish, fake nails and any embellishment in your toe nails.

  • Fill in a large bowl with warm water and soak your feet for 15 to 20 minutes. You can use that foot soak recipe in this step then rinse with clean water afterwards.

  • Apply a foot scrub made of salt or sugar and rub to your feet to remove any dirt, dead skin cells.

  • Wash your feet and dry them with a towel.

  • Apply carrier oil of your choice to cuticles and trim your toenails with nail clippers to desired length.

  • Use a nail file to get all those rough edges smooth on nails, when your file your nails, file them in one direction.

  • Apply foot cream.
