DIY Shimmer Body Oil
After knowing all these benefits then you'll be more than ready to prepare your own recipe. I hope at this point you're all pumped up with all enthusiasm to get you going to create your own shimmer body oil. This recipe is very simple to make with fewer steps and less downtime. Now with no further ado, let's get started.
Selecting Ingredients
Grapeseed oil: This plant oil is a light weight carrier oil that is derived from cold-pressed grape seeds as part of grape by-product. This oil just like grapes, it is filled with vitamin A and E, antioxidants such as polyphenols and fatty acids that can deeply penetrate the skin barrier and nourish it. Another good thing about this oil is that it does not leave residue or greasy feel after applying.
Rosehip oil: This is another best carrier oil for skin health. It is filled with vitamin A and E that can boost skin rejuvenation, making your skin look more youthful. But also rosehip oil can fade out scars and other kind of pigmentation. Adding this oil to the shimmer body oil recipe is definitely a good idea.
Red raspberry seed oil: Since this body oil is tailored for summer season, then including carrier oil that can reduce effects of photoaging and sun damage on the skin, this oil should be among the ingredients to consider. Red raspberry seed oil can have an SPF (Sun Protection Factor) of 30+. This oil can offer sun protection but applying sunscreen can also be a great idea. Find organic source for better results.
Retinyl palmitate: This is a form of Vitamin A that is less stronger than tretinoin but still can be a good option for your skin radiance and boosting the glow of the overall skin health. And always remember that a little bit of vitamin A of any form can be beneficial than nothing especially if found in your body oil.
Vitamin E oil: Also known as tocopherol acetate is another good vitamin and antioxidant too. It is good at fighting off free radicals on the skin. Since you're more likely to apply this shimmer body oil when outdoors then vitamin E is going to protect you from the UV exposure that the sun may cause.
Essential oils: In this recipe post, I decided not to choose an essential oil instead you can choose your own from various inspiration or scent you prefer or be creative and make your own essential oil blend to match your taste or personality or vibe you're looking for in a shimmer body oil so that you not only shimmer but scented up to par!
Mica powder: This is where we get our shimmer from. This mineral powder can make your skin shimmer. By adding a bit you can go a long way in your shimmer body oil. Again to empasize individuality you can choose your own mica color. Though bronze colored mica is good at giving the skin that tan, sun-kissed summer skin vibes.
Ingredients
5½ teaspoons of grapeseed oil
½ teaspoon of rosehip oil
4 teaspoons of red raspberry seed oil
½ teaspoon of retinyl palmitate (Vitamin A)
20 drops of Vitamin E oil
15 drops of Essential oil
¼ teaspoon of of Mica powder

Now after getting all these ingredients you should prepare your working space and tools. Make sure the room is tidy, clean and well-ventilated. Then arrange for the tools like measuring spoons, mixing bowl, spatula or wooden spoon and then a nice well-sanitized bottle.
Instructions
Measure out all the ingredients: plant oils like red raspberry seed oil, grapeseed oil and rosehip oil and set them aside.
Pour these oils into the mixing bowl and stir with a spatula or wooden spoon. I prefer a silicone spatula since the oils don't stick to the spatula.
Now add your vitamin E oil and then retinyl palmitate into the oil mixture and blend in the ingredients till the mixture becomes uniform.
Next add your essential oil or essential oil blends for your body oil. There are wide range of notes such as citrus, floral, woody, fruity and fresh scented essential oil that you can select from to make for a wonderful body oil.
Add your mica powder and make sure to stir really well for the mica to disperse and get distributed in the oil mix. Again, here you can opt for your own color of mica that suits you. Though bronze mica can be good especially for sun-kissed look.
Pour your oil mixture in a bottle and store it in a dry and clean place away from direct sunlight.
