Vegetable glycerin: It is odorless ingredient that is a good humectant for the skin. It is highly hypoallergenic and can soothe your delicate skin around the eyes, even for sensitive skin type. Adding it to your eye balm will make it more moisturizing.
Candelilla wax: This wax acts as your eye balm base. Its occlusive properties make it a good ingredient to add a protective layer to your skin. Some waxes can be comedogenic, not this one, it is not non-comedogenic and vegan-friendly wax. You could use beeswax or soy wax instead, it won't break your eye balm recipe.
Vitamin E oil: This oil has both anti-inflammatory and anti-aging properties that can be beneficial to your skin. Vitamin E oil can reduce appearance of wrinkles around the eyes, can fight off free radicals caused by blue light that causes dark circles after spending most of your time on your phones. But also vitamin E oil is gentle to skin with various skin conditions and won't irritate your skin.
Red raspberry seed oil: This oil is lightweight and an important add-on to your eye balm recipe. It is used in sunscreen due to its effectiveness in fighting off UV ray damage and signs of aging. This quality makes for a better ingredient in your eye balm.
Retinyl Palmitate: It is also called retinol. It is good ingredient for combating fine lines and wrinkles. This is a very optional ingredient in your recipe. If you have skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis and rosacea then skip this part.
