Homemade Toilet Fresheners for a Nice Bathroom Smell

Cleaning the bathroom is among the important part of the house that can not be ignored. Bathroom especially toilet sink should be cleaned everyday if not every other day. Not regularly cleaning the bathroom, can create a breeding environment for dangerous bacteria like Salmonella typhi and E. coli that can spread diseases.
DIY Bathroom Scent Boosters
These bathroom scent boosters can improve hygiene and sanitation in the bathroom. Reduce bacteria overgrowth on the bathroom surfaces. Some can be in solid or liquid form that can be poured in the toilet tank to kill bacteria but also deodorize the bathroom to smell nice and cut out bad odors.

DIY Bathroom Scent Booster Recipes
Gel Bathroom Scent Booster
Ingredients
1 block of glycerin soap base (250g)
5 drops of liquid colorant (optional)
30 to 40 drops of essential oil and essential oil blends
Steps
Melt the glycerin soap base in a double boiler or you can use a saucepan with few inches of water and place the heatproof beaker in and then add diced glycerin soap.
Turn on low heat till the soap base is completely melted.
Add few drops of your favorite liquid colorant and mix till the melted glycerin soap mixture is uniform.
Add your essential oils and continue stirring.
Pour your soap base in small tablet shaped silicone mold.
Use: Add few gel bathroom scent boosters in your toilet water tank. It will dissolve slowly allowing the water to be deodorized and the bathroom to smell nice every time you flush the toilet.
Vinegar Bathroom Scent Booster
Ingredients
1 cup of white vinegar
1 cup of warm water
60 to 120 drops of essential oils or essential oil blends
Steps
Combine white vinegar and warm water in a mixing bowl.
Add your essential oil or essential oil blends, the likes of peppermint, lemon or lavender essentials can make the bathroom smell fresh.
Pour your liquid in a well-sanitized bottle.
Use: Add the liquid in the toilet sink or toilet water tank for fresher smell.
Hydrogen Peroxide Liquid Scent Booster
Ingredients
¼ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide
½ cup of distilled white vinegar
1 cup of warm water
60 to 120 drops of essential oil or essential oil blends
Steps
Measure out your ingredients except for essential oils. Combine your ingredients in a clean mixing bowl and stir till well dissolved.
Add your favorite essential oils in the mixture.
Pour your liquid mixture in a spray bottle on any other bottle.
Use: Spray on the toilet sink after each toilet use or directly pour your in the toilet water tank for easy flushing.
Soap Tablet Bathroom Scent Booster
Ingredients
1 block of melt and pour soap base (250g)
60 to 120 drops of essential oil or essential oil blends
a silicone mold with miniature tablet-like cavities or any other cavity of your liking
Steps
Measure out your soap base and dice your block of soap base to small chunks.
Put them in a double boiler or use a saucepan with few inches of water and place a heatproof beaker, add the chunks in a beaker.
Put the double boiler or saucepan on the stove top and turn on low heat till the soap base chunks are completely melted.
Add your essential oil or essential oil blends in your melted soap base and mix them uniformly.
Pour the soap base in the silicone mold and allow to cool and cure for 24 t0 48 hours.
Pop them out the mold.
Use: Add the soap tablets in the toilet water tank for fresher smell. Avoid nasty, stinky toilet.
DIY Bathroom Bomb Scent Booster
Ingredients
1 cup of baking soda
¼ cup of citric acid
3 tablespoons of lavender hydrosol
40 to 60 drops of essential oil and essential oil blends
Steps
Mix dry ingredients: baking soda and citric acid in a mixing bowl.
Add your lavender hydrosol to the dry ingredients with a spatula or wooden spoon.
Add your essential oil and essential oil blends and mix well.
Press your mixture in a mold to make small 'bombs'.
Dry the 'bombs' overnight in a zipped bag with no moisture.
Use: Add the bathroom bomb scent boosters in the water tank and it will dissolve in water to create deodorize water when you flush.
