Selecting Ingredients
Cocoa butter: It is the main excipient in your lip balm formulation. It is filled with polyphenols and essential fatty acids that can help your lips significantly. This natural butter apart from having sweet cocoa scent, it has beneficial properties such as nourishing, moisturizing and heal chapped and broken lips.
Beeswax: This is part of lip balm formulation that make it solid. Beeswax act as a protective layer, deep moisturizing and can help to hydrate your lips. Beeswax contains essential fatty acids that can help your lips.
Jojoba oil: It is a great oil that can soothe your lips and improve your lips appearance. Jojoba oil has high content of vitamin E oil which can nourish lips. Jojoba oil can restore natural oils that can replenish and make your lips more soft and plump.
Sweet almond oil: It contains vitamin A, E and K which are good for your lips and skin overall. Sweet almond oil has numerous benefits including helping dark lips to get lighter, brighter and vibrant lip complexion.
Strawberry powder: This powder is derived from vacuum dried and crushed strawberries. Strawberry powder can exfoliate dry patches on the lips and brighten dark lips. This strawberry can smoothen lips and make them kissable💋.
Vitamin E oil: Also known as tocopherol, this ingredient can act as a preservative to your lip balm formulation. Vitamin E oil can fight free radicals that are caused by sun damage due to its anti-oxidant properties and promote lip softness.
Ingredients
1 heaping tablespoon of cocoa butter
1 tablespoon of grated beeswax
1 tablespoon of jojoba oil
2 teaspoons of sweet almond oil
½ teaspoon of strawberry powder
15 drops of Vitamin E oil
Collect your ingredients and tools like measuring spoons, measuring cups, stove, mixing bowl, small saucepan and small cute lip balm pot or jars or twist tubes. Another thing is to know about measurement of strawberry powder. Add more powder for deeper color or reduce the amount of powder for lighter shades of pink.


Instructions
Begin making your recipe, measure out your ingredients: cocoa butter, grated beeswax, jojoba oil and sweet almond oil into a glass measuring cup and place in a saucepan of few inches of simmering water. Use a double boiler if you have one.
Turn on the heat. Wait until your beeswax and cocoa butter have completely melted
Next remove from the heat.
Now add your favorite extracts or oils, in this case we are going to use vitamin E oil. Vitamin E oil for nourishing your lips.
Add strawberry powder to the mixture and mix thoroughly, till the color of the lip balm base is even throughout.
Carefully pour your mixture to your designated lip balm containers, they can be lip balm tins, lip balm jars or lip balm tubes.
Allow to harden and cool at room temperature.
QUICK TIP: To prevent air bubbles in your lip balm, use lip tube filling tray, if you don't have one use blow dryer to re-melt the lip balm and add more mixture and fill the hole.
