There are factors that can make or contribute to thinning of hair strands. Things like genetics, lifestyle habits, medical conditions and so on. Such as

  • Overtreating your hair with chemical treatments like relaxers, perms, colorants and Brazilian treatments.

  • Conditions such as trichotillomania

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Nutrient deficiency

  • Rosemary essential oil: It is a very good essential oil to hair care. Rosemary has been proven in studies to help your hair grow, stimulate hair follicles. It is included in your herbal hair rinse to combat hair thinning.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of boiling water

  • 1 cup of rosemary hydrosol

  • 1 tablespoon of comfrey herb

  • 1 tablespoon of horsetail herb

  • 1 tablespoon of dried rosemary herb

  • 2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar

  • 15 drops of rosemary essential oil

Gather your tools and supplies; a saucepan, tablespoons, a kitchen thermometer, cheese cloth or strainer, a designated spray bottle and a cooker. This DIY haircare recipe is simple to make and has less downtime. All ingredients can be easily outsourced in your own kitchen and even better if your have your own mini-garden🍃!

Instructions

  1. Begin taking your two cups, one cup of water and one cup of rosemary hydrosol, pour them in a saucepan. Place the saucepan on the cooker or stove top and bring it to boiling.

  2. Next step, without letting the mixture to cool, add in your herbal rinse preparations, comfrey, horsetail and dried rosemary herbs. This herbs can help regrowth and strengthen hair strands. Add apple cider vinegar to the mixture.

  3. Close tightly with the lid and leave the herbs to infuse in the water. Wait for your mixture to cool to room temperature, 25 Celsius (77 Fahrenheit).

  4. Use a cheese cloth or strainer to strain liquid from the used herbs.

  5. At this stage, you can add your favorite essential oil or essential oil that can help you in hair, let's use rosemary essential oil in this herbal rinse.

  6. Add one tablespoon of olive oil if your hair and scalp is very dry too. This is optional step.

  7. Pour your herbal hair rinse in your designated sterilized spray bottle.

How to Use Hair Herbal Rinse

  • First option: cleanse your hair with homemade shampoo.

  • Second option: skip shampoo and go co-wash route for critically damaged thin hair especially from chemical treatments.

  • Then spray your herbal hair rinse all over your hair and massage thoroughly.

  • Leave your herbal hair rinse to take its effect for five minutes.

  • Rinse out your hair and towel dry it.

  • Apply leave-in conditioner and hair oil and style your hair the way you'd like.
